What is Leaves for Life?

About Us

We are excited to be bringing LEAVES for LIFE to COP26 in Glasgow as a mass action of solidarity between people of Scotland and indigenous communities in Colombia on the front line of the climate crisis, and look forward to you joining us on this incredible journey to COP26 and beyond.

The core artists involved in Leaves for Life are Ailie Rutherford and Zoe Walker & Neil Bromwich (Walker & Bromwich).

We would like to emphasise that this is an opportunity for everyone, young or old, to get involved in this mass action. Join individuals and groups creating giant leaf flags internationally to add to the growing canopy of LEAVES for LIFE.

How we began

Leaves for Life is an offshoot of Diálogos Posibles: de la Maloka a la Canopia / Possible Dialogues: From the Maloca to the Canopy. It is an initiative to connect social and environmental leaders, activists, artists and academics who have common interests relating to climate change, but have not had the opportunity to interact. Ironically, in an ever more interconnected world with rapid exchanges of information, there are fewer occasions for deep dialogue. Possible Dialogues seeks to dissolve this paradox. In this particular time of increased isolation, with our planet in ecological crisis and COP26 approaching, it is more critical than ever that we find ways to connect and genuinely communicate.
